Danja Therecka joined the Board of Directors of the Ashburn Institute in October 2002 after working as a summer intern for the organization. She currently serves as Vice-President of the Ashburn Institute.

A native of Albania , Danja has recently obtained her American citizenship. In January 2004, she married Carlos Igerra , a Columbian national currently finishing his residency as an orthopedic surgeon.

Danja recently finished her Masters Degree in International Affairs with a concentration on comparative and regional studies, and more specifically Trans-Atlantic relations, from the American University in Washington DC .
